Location, location, location

I passed a car today, sitting in the middle of an intersection.  There was no driver, the flashers were blinking, and there was a “For Sale” sign in the rear windshield.

I hear two potential conversations in my mind.  One goes like this:

“Mom, no one is going to see your car back here in this cul-de-sac.  If you want to sell it, you need to put it somewhere that gets a lot of passers-by.”

The other conversation goes like this:

“Mom, this is the third time this has happened, and I’m tired calling AAA all the time.  Let’s just throw a “For Sale” sign on it, and hope someone’s in the market.”

I thought the blinkers were a nice touch.  You want your merchandise to catch the potential customer’s eye.  It’s Marketing 101.

(Disclaimer: I discounted a third possible conversation, where the sign was unrelated to the car’s current location.  John’s Razor applies here: Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however likely, is boring.)
